What is Micro-Needling?
Also referred to as skin needling or collagen induction therapy, micro-needling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that uses fine needles to improve the overall appearance, texture, and health of the skin.

During treatment, small needles attached to a micro-needling applicator are passed over the treatment area. These needles create small micro-channels within the skin. While the injuries these needles cause are significant enough to stimulate the body’s natural healing process, they are small enough that they do not leave visible scars or bring extensive downtime.
This treatment can be used to correct:
  • Photoaged skin
  • Scars
  • Skin laxity
  • Stretch marks
  • Wrinkles
What is PRP?
Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is a natural product of the body that can be isolated by drawing a small amount of a patient’s blood. After the blood is drawn, it is carefully processed through a centrifuge in order to isolate the platelet cells within it.
Within the body, blood platelets restore, regenerate, and strength tissue. They contain a wide variety of growth factors, all of which work together to ensure that the tissues of the body are healthy.
When reintroduced back into the body either through injectable or topical means, the high concentration of plasma cells present in PRP work to heal and restore the tissues in treatment  area. This procedure can be used to correct many of the signs of aging, including:
  • Fine lines
  • Large pores
  • Uneven texture
  • Wrinkles
How Can These Two Treatments Benefit Each Other?
When used together, micro-needling and PRP combine into a treatment that is more effective than either on its own. During a combination micro-needling and PRP procedure, micro-needling is performed on the treatment area. Once this is complete, PRP is either applied topically or injected into the skin. Because micro-needling opens up channels deep within the skin, the PRP is more easily absorbed by its deepest, foundational layers, stimulating healing and regeneration there. And because PRP contains hundreds of healing growth factors, the amount of time it takes for micro-needling channels to heal completely is dramatically reduced.
